Since its big opening event on February 8th 2020, the Red Lion House (RLH) Community Centre has seen a lot of use, in spite of three lock-downs due to Covid-19.
This major step was achieved with the help of grants from Reaching Communities Lottery Fund, Veolia Landfill Tax Fund, The Consolidated Charities of Burton, and donations from and fundraising by the local community.
This first year has been a challenge because of Covid-19, but the building was used as much as possible within the Covid-19 secure guidelines.
The next phase of work is now being planned, this will give the community the variety of spaces as requested in previous surveys.
The upstairs area will be accessed by stairs and by a lift facility and will provide another 4 rooms of different sizes, a toilet and a kitchen area. (plans on link)
The RLH Charity Trustees are applying for grants again and asking for more support from the community.
Could you complete and return the questionnaire? Could you organise a fundraising event?
We are looking to raise a further £140,000 in order to complete the project. We already have a good starting fund, mostly from generous donations over the past year, for which many thanks.
The entire aim of the RLH Charity is to provide a high quality building for use by the whole community of Horninglow, so your support is essential.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, so all income goes into the running and maintenance of the building.
